Why We Exist? Independent Firearm Owners – the Key Constituency!
Are you tired of the constant pleas for more money from other gun groups? Do you question their integrity when the sky is constantly falling and every new proposal raises concerns to “Defcon level 1?” Do you wonder where your hard-earned money is going? No private jet travel here at IFOA, no vacations in the Bahamas on your tab just good old-fashioned grass roots activism – the way we used to do things here in America.
“IFOA” is determined to be different. We may not be the loudest voice, but we will be the most intelligent, thoughtful, creative supporters of your Second Amendment freedoms ever! But there’s more. Firearms are our critical focus, but two other allied issues, personal security and criminal justice reform round out our mission portfolio. Our goal is not simply to win the next battle, but victory in the war on our individual rights as free men and women to be safe and secure in our homes, on our streets, and in our workplaces/schools whether online or in person.
During our current tumultuous debate over background checks, semi-automatics, open carry, red-flag laws, non-assault “assault rifles” and ghost guns, the media consistently misunderstands why owning a gun changes the way voters view proposed firearm legislation. Does banning my ability to own 15-round magazines make me safer? Does confiscating my AR-15 take even one gun from the hands of the gang bangers? Does forcing me to register every gun I own prevent a single criminal from stealing them? What purpose can there be (at great bureaucratic cost) of registering 350,000,000++ guns unless the real purpose is ultimately more sinister? We need to stop bumper sticker stupidity in its infancy and counter it with serious proposals to prevent firearms from getting in the hands of violent predatory criminals, unsupervised, untrained juveniles, and dangerous mentally unbalanced individuals. Instead of reacting to the Brady crowd, why shouldn’t we become the protagonists in this effort – after all, we know how nice-sounding proposals end up failing in the real world.
This is our mission. We need you to change the direction of America. We’re savvy, we’re experienced, and dedicated to achieving our goals. Our target date is the Sestercentennial of the United States of America – our upcoming birthday celebrating 250 years of freedom – July 4th 2026!
